BIG NEWS! Our two daughters Alex and Brooke are ad

BIG NEWS! Our two daughters Alex and Brooke are adventurous souls. They are brave and curious and we love seeing where they will land next. Finding recent pictures of the two of them together was difficult because they are often in different parts of the world. However, that is about to change! This fall, both of these brilliant young women will be starting graduate school in London, so this adventure, they will be together!

We are delighted to share the news that Alex will continue her @the_factivists journey by pursuing a Masters in Social and Public Communication at London School of Economics. Our writer and playwright Brooke will be in the Masters of Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama- part of University of London. So all of my children are moving to London for a year and will be living together. So thrilled to see them pursuing their dreams and obviously, we are planning multiple trips to one of our favorite cities in the world!!

Republican friends, I have a story to tell you.

I was at the "Don't Look Away" rally in DC this morning. A gentleman asked if I would be willing to do an on camera interview. If you know me at all, you KNOW I never say no to a camera and a microphone, particularly on causes I care about 😆 I asked him what media outlet he was with and he said he was with the CBS affiliate in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. I mentioned I was born in Tulsa and still had family in Oklahoma and Texas. He skillfully worked that into the interview and gave me the opportunity to talk about how my politically conservative family in Oklahoma and Texas, many of whom are gun owners, actually agree with me about common sense gun laws. While we often vote differently on other issues, THIS is one we agree on. Background checks, waiting periods, training to have a permit, red flag laws, age restrictions are just common sense. And folks from that part of the world are big fans of common sense!

If you have a Republican Senator, WE NEED YOU! Please don't let the NRA convince us that we are divided on this one. There is no US vs.THEM on this issue. Over 90% of Americans support these types of laws, yet our legislators at the federal level who take money from the NRA act like our views, YOUR views, on this don't matter. Follow 👏the 👏money👏!

If you don't join the fight, then the NRA wins and our children lose. We can't look away and let someone else fight this battle. Will you join me? Let's get this done so no one has to look at another photo of me in a fricking red shirt.
