We have been told that my dog is “heavy to obese” and that he needs to be on a diet. I have cut back on his food and we are trying to make sure he gets more exercise. I feed him first thing in the morning (about 7:00 a.m.) and then TRY to get him to wait until 6:00 p.m. to eat again. He starts THIS about 5:00…he just lays there next to his bowl with his pleading eyes following my every move. Occasionally, he will nose his bowl further out into the middle of the kitchen…if the pantry door is open, he will push it into the pantry. All the while, lying there and looking at me with those big, black eyes. I generally make it until about 5:30 before I give in and feed him. My youngest has signed up to be his personal trainer….she is out running him around the block even as we speak. The poor little fat guy may just die of a heart attack!
In other news, we found out today that my eldest has been walking around for ONE FULL WEEK with an undiagnosed broken arm…a broken elbow to be precise. She fell playing basketball one week ago this evening and we decided yesterday that it should probably have quit hurting by now. But we have been really busy…
Don’t worry, I have things firmly under control here.

Kelly–give your dog no salt canned green beans. We had to do this with our Yorkie who was 8 ozs. over her best weight which is a lot at 5 lbs. It fills them up, is filling, and best of all they don’t upset their stomachs. Good luck!!
