It has been a busy, wonderful week and joyful, relaxing day. Christmas has arrived! It is late and I am headed to bed, but I wanted to say Merry Christmas to all of you who share your lives with me by visiting my blog. God bless you!
Last night, at the candlelight service, we sang many of the traditional carols that mean so much to me. This verse of “O Little Town of Bethlehem” touched my heart once again….so simple, but it goes right to the heart of our prayer for Christmas:
O holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin, and enter in, be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel!
Immanuel, God with us, born in us, abiding in us…the Light of the world casting out the darkness of our despair. Not just today, but every day that we invite Him to abide in us. What a gift!
Amen and Amen! From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry, Merry Christmas!
And a merry Christmas to you and yours as well (although I think I can shift to “Happy New Year!”). That is a great family photo you have posted; thanks so much for sharing it. Looking forward to another year of visiting your blog to see what you’re up to!!
