Courage + Curiosity + Compassion = Connection
Courage, curiosity, and compassion are at the heart of the support I offer to groups as well as individuals. All of my seminars, trainings, workshops and retreats target emotional wellbeing and effectiveness with a personalized focus and curriculum depending on the needs of your group. In order to function at our best, we need to engage the wisdom of our heart, our head and our gut. With 30+ years of experience and training in the wellness and mental health fields, I specialize in the intersection of psychology, spirituality and neuroscience. I am passionate about helping your group, team, or community build their capacity for courage, deepen their curiosity, and offer themselves and each other more compassion for the journey.
Here are some of my favorite offerings for groups:
Courage
The root of the word courage is cor—the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.” In 2015, I offered my first Being Brave retreat for women to create a space for listening to the collective wisdom of our hearts. In 2017, my book Being Brave was published. Usually presented within the context of faith communities, my Being Brave events cover topics such as:
- shame resilience
- turning down the volume on our inner critics
- building connection through greater authenticity and vulnerability
- the antidote to procrastination and perfectionism
- increased engagement and empowerment through one simple mantra
In addition to my being Brave Retreats, I also offer a virtual half day retreat especially for women called “Cultivating, Celebrating and Instigating Joy in Difficult Times.”
Curiosity
We access the power of our beautiful, brilliant brains- our head wisdom- by tapping into our innate curiosity, creativity and resourcefulness. My neuroscience offerings for groups, based on the ground breaking work of BeAbove Leadership, combine innovative brain based coaching tools and the latest research on neuroscience and psychology. Through the Seven Levels of Effectiveness, you or your team will be introduced to a road map for human effectiveness which elegantly and clearly shows us not only where we are, but where we want to go to access our most creative, effective and engaged level of thinking individually and collectively. If this sounds like just what we all need in today’s world, I would love to introduce you to some of the incredibly practical and surprisingly FUN neuroscience tools I have to support you and your team. Compassion
Intentionally seeking greater self awareness and understanding the different perspective of others develops and deepens our capacity for compassion. Compassion is an essential quality for individual and team growth. While many assessments and personality frameworks support this kind of growth, I believe the Enneagram offers a uniquely creative path to personal and group transformation.
The Enneagram is an archetypal framework that suggests there are nine primary ways, often called Types, of viewing the world. Enneagram enthusiasts believe understanding our primary Type opens a pathway to self-discovery and greater personal awareness. Understanding all 9 Types helps us understand the ways our family, friends, and colleagues might see the world differently. Learning about the Enneagram as a team enables us to celebrate the unique contributions of all the different perspectives. Learn more about my Enneagram coaching and group presentations HERE.

I would love to brainstorm with you about how I can support your team, staff, group or community with any combination of the topics above. Let’s get creative and have some fun!
