With the real Super Bowl coming up this weekend, I know you have all been just dying to see the picture of my trophy that I received from beating my sister in our fantasy football league championship. I am actually quite impressed with it and have it displayed in a place of honor in our family room for the time being. You will notice that it has an actual ball…as in real sports…on it. Isn’t this SO exciting?? Here it is, for your viewing pleasure:
Since I am following up on recent posts, you may be interested to know that I have mostly stuck to the new diet and have just about reached my goal. Actually, I gave up on their specific recipes, but retained the most important tenets of the diet; never go more than 4 hours without eating, include a MUFA in every meal, and stick to around 400 calories per meal (4 meals per day.) Adhering to those recommendations, along with regular exercise (4 or more times a week,) has me down to a healthier weight where my clothes fit better, I have more energy and I just generally feel better. As I said in my earlier post, the true secret here, for me, is just being much more intentional about the kinds of food I put in my body. Although it sounds like this is all wonderful, one of my children is complaining about the lack of some of the foods that they used to enjoy. Since I am in charge of buying the majority of the food that enters our household, my focus on healthier choices is impacting all of them as well. Poor things! 🙂
Congratulations on the FF league title! I’m in two leagues and won the title in one of them (same league as our friend Julie over at Julie Unplugged); if there’s any additional prize for having won, it’s for my wife — because Sundays are now freed up for other things besides waiting for me to finish setting lineups and checking stats!
