Why Blog?

What is a nice girl like me doing on a weblog like this?  Just the question that I am asking myself!  I have been mulling this idea around for some time now and decided that today was the day to start.  So here is my thinking behind this new adventure.  If you know me at all, you know that I am a person with some opinions about a few things.  Just ask me, I’ll tell you.  Actually, you usually don’t have to ask to hear my opinions!  I am passionate about the things that are important to me.  And being a 21st century woman, I spend way too much time on the computer; at least my family thinks so.  Perhaps you are a recipient of one of my emails on faith and politics.  All the Republicans in my family love those.  Or maybe you have gotten one of my emails with the lyrics to a song I just heard that really spoke to me.  Perhaps you have been in bible study with me and have gotten one of my emails sharing what God is teaching me through our study of His word.  Sometimes I just gotta share!! This way, you choose if and when you want to hear it!

All summer long, and in previous seasons of my life, I have been keeping a journal.  I don’t know about you, but I gain clarity through writing it down…all of it…the confusion, the joys, the sorrows, the questions, the moments when I FINALLY get it!  It seems to me that a weblog is a journal that you invite others to share with you.  A peek into your heart.  And while part of me feels like a weblog is the ultimate in self-absorption, part of me hopes that my thoughts might somehow connect with you…might speak to you at your heart level.  I have no idea right now what I will write about…Ok, actually I have SEVERAL ideas…but I hope you will share your thoughts as well.  And I promise to work on cutting down on the number of exclamation marks! Stay tuned!!
